Passing Through The Mastery Door

Stoner Vibrations Sweeden has done it again. Once in a while an album comes along that can define a genre in the way that listeners can point to it and say "Now THAT'S Stoner Rock". Riffs so heavy but psychedelia so light that this album feels like a stoned mammoth stomping through an ethereal clouded landscape. If this work of Stoner genius doesn't get your head nodding then you're probably already dead and listening to this record in heaven. Favorite track: Mammuten.

Elliott Mariess full of that sweet fuzzy nectar that keeps me satisfied. Favorite track: Blind Man (Part III).

bastian Yes, this is it. It is heavy, it has charme, I like the riffs, I really love the little roughness of the singers voice. I get drawn into a mystic world and immediately long for more of the owls wisdom. Favorite track: Blind Man (Part III).

about

Debut album from excellent new band from Nyköping/Stockholm. An excellent 8 tracker that includes all the delicious early 70's guitar grooves from early BLACK SABBATH, LEAF HOUND and WITCHCRAFT you could ever dream of!

----------------------------------------------

"This is a quality album from start to finish. It’s some of the best use of fuzz mixed with desert and psych rock. For fans of the Truckfighters, this may be the best album they never recorded." - The Soda Shop

"Where their previous demo had given some hint of a retro ‘70s influence, the debut full-length from Nyköping, Sweden, four-piece Mamont is more thickly, densely fuzzed. Passing through the Mastery Door is a fairly ambitious title for an act making their debut, but the Ozium Records release is accordingly sure of itself and of its aesthetic, culling influence both from the ‘90s stoner rock heyday and the natural, laid-back vibing of modern European heavy psych". - The Obelisk
